‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Becomes Netflix’s Most Watched Movie Ever

KPop Demon Hunters ascends to No. 1 on Netflix’s all-time movie charts in the same week that it scored a box office win with a sing-along version released in theaters. Netflix isn’t officially reporting box office revenue for the weekend, but it made between $17 million and $18 million over the Aug. 22-24 weekend, which would put the movie ahead of Weapons at $15.4 million. Fewer People Are Reading for Fun, Study Finds

Researchers from University College London and the University of Florida examined national data from 2003 to 2023 and found that the share of people who reported reading for pleasure on a given day fell to 16 percent in 2023 from a peak of 28 percent in 2004 — a drop of about 40 percent.
